We found a great product at PrintOnIt that takes
magnetic crafting to a whole new level! Inkjet Magnet allows you to capture the
high-quality images of digital or photos or any digital image you choose and
apply it to a magnetic sheet that can be used for a wide variety of crafting
applications. Instead of the old process of gluing the paper to the magnetic
backing, now you can print directly onto the magnet itself, overcoming past
problems such as the project tending to peel away from the magnet and opening
new doors for magnetic crafting.
Inkjet magnets are available in either gloss or matte finish. Matte finish
might be a great choice for taking a child's artwork from his first day at
school, scanning the art, and printing out a magnetized sheet for your
refrigerator. No more loose papers stuck up with fridge magnets, the paper
artwork IS a magnet! The original can be safely tucked away into your child's
scrapbook instead of getting damaged by hanging on the fridge. A nice touch for
this project would be to use photo editing software to add a current picture of
your child into a blank area of the artwork before printing it out, so everyone
can admire the artwork and see the artist at the same time, and to provide a
lasting reminder of your child and his abilities at that particular age.
These would also make great personalized calendars to hang on your
refrigerator. You can use your scanner to add your own photos, and add notes to
the calendar template to remind your busy family of everything that needs
remembering. With the image quality afforded by inkjet magnets, birthdays,
graduations, etc. would be especially suited for photos of the celebrant in
their date-box.
Fall festivals and fairs
are coming up, and inkjet magnets offer a great way to raise money or increase
your crafting sales. Label or business card templates allow the crafter to
